As temperatures near 100, and feel even higher than that, Bessemer police are making an effort to cool things off for the city's senior citizens.

The Bessemer Police Department today announced its Fan Giveaway 2016. The fans already have been obtained by the department, and now they are looking for recipients, said Sgt. Cortice Miles.
