SB 187 by Senator Barrow is scheduled to be heard this week by the House Health and Welfare Committee.

This bill would compromise patient safety and care, further fracture our health care system, and undermine physician-led medicine. SB 187 would allow nurses, specifically nurse practitioners, to practice medicine with no oversight by physicians. NPs will try to convince you that such a step would lead to more people being able to access care, but that is simply not true.
