United States Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) and Bob Menendez (D-NJ) have introduced legislation that will have profound effects on the health and financial security of the 60 million Americans enrolled in Medicare Part D plans.
The bipartisan Seniors Prescription Drug Relief Act would include a cap on out-of-pocket costs and allow Americans enrolled in Medicare Part D to pay expenses in installments over the plan year instead of having to pay large bills at once. This legislation would reduce the taxpayer’s responsibility for Part D spending without limiting investment in research and development to find cures for chronic illnesses.
We applaud Senator Cassidy and Senator Menendez for bringing forward solutions to help seniors at the pharmacy counter. Seniors will be able to receive the medicines they need when they need them without financial hardship. To learn more about the Seniors Prescription Drug Relief Act click here.
